The Kim Jones x Converse Chuck 70 Utility Wave Hi “Natural” is one of two classic colorways in the collaboration between the famed luxury designer and Converse on the classic high-top shoe. An April 2021 release, the Kim Jones-designed Chuck 70 Utility Wave Hi gives the venerable lifestyle shoe a rugged new look that leans heavily on the designer’s high fashion influence. A Natural Ivory TPU overlay is layered over the tonal canvas base for added stability. Translucent “clips” can be found along the eyelets and assist with supporting the design of the lacing system. White embroidered “Kim Jones” detailing is stitching onto the beige canvas tongue and classic Converse Chuck Taylor All Star branding appears on the medial side of the collar. The avant-garde look continues on the bottom of the shoe where an added wavy rubber overlay above the cream colored vulcanized midsole creates a “stacking” effect. A black plastic license plate on the heel of the sole provides a retro look for what is otherwise a contemporary version of the Converse Chuck 70. Release date: April 8, 2021.
